Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Ride2School

The Peaks Challenge Ride2School fundraiser is on again for this year's epic event on Sunday 9 March.

Bicycle Network is calling on event participants to help us get school children on their bikes and riding by raising funds for our 20-year-old bike education program.

"In the 1970s, eight out of 10 students rode or walked to school. Today, that number has dropped to just two out of 10, " says Bicycle Network CEO Alison McCormack.

"Our Ride2School program is working to change this and give children healthy habits for life.

"We are calling on all Peaks Challenge riders to use their help us fundraise for Ride2School and score the exclusive Peaks Challenge Legends kits as a reward.

"You’re taking on a monumental challenge and so are we. Together, with the support of your colleagues, company, friends, and family, we can make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives," says McCormack.

Peaks Challenge riders will tackle 235km and ascend more than 4500 metres in a single day.

Bicycle Network launched the Peaks Ride2School fundraiser for the 2024 event early last year and 31 of the 2000 registered riders raised $20,264 for the program.

"So far, 2015 riders have registered for Peaks Challenge, and we are hoping to really ramp up our fundraising efforts for the 2025 event.

"Please ask your friends, family and colleagues to help support our kids, says McCormack.
