Man rides along path in the centre of the St Georges Road median.
St Georges Rd path works may disrupt users

Melbourne Water maintenance crews will be working along the St Georges Road path in Northcote in coming weeks between 7am and 6pm.

One of Melbourne’s major water mains runs under the path, and the meters that measure water flowing in the pipe need upgrading.

Currently in the investigation phase, the works will involve non-destructive digging with high pressure water and air to safely expose underground assets such as gas lines, water pipes and cables.

The old flowmeters will continue to operate after the new meters are installed while  Melbourne Water monitors the accuracy of the newly installed meters.
