Logan – Gold Coast Faster Rail Project cycleway truncated
The continuous active transport corridor promised as part of Queensland's Logan – Gold Coast Faster Rail Project has been quietly dropped from the plans.

The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads had planned to construct a continuous cycle route from Kuraby to Beenleigh, with the new path forming a cornerstone of the Logan bike network.

Now, two sections of the proposed active transport route have been removed from the project plan: south of Kuraby Station (to Compton Road) and south of Woodridge Station.

Without these sections, riders will need to leave the rail corridor and ride on the road at these points, including on high-speed Jacaranda Avenue.

Under the new plan, there will no longer be a continuous, low-risk cycle route to reach train stations or schools (including Loganlea State High School) along the corridor.

Bicycle Queensland and the Logan Bicycle User Group are calling for a reinstatement of the promised active transport corridor and more information can be found here.
