Back on your Bike Ready to Ride

In this three-part series, we’ll guide you through the basics of getting ready to ride to work and show you what to expect from a workplace Back on your Bike skills refresher session.

Ready to Ride: Part one

Part one is an introduction to the program and covers some of the many benefits of riding a bike.

Ready to Ride: Part two

In part two, we’ll go over what you can expect in a Back on your Bike skills refresher session, how to fit a bike and how to do an ABC check.

Ready to Ride: Part three

The final part of this series covers the variety of bikes and how to find the right one for you, how to plan a bike route and some handy gear that can make your commute more comfortable.

Back on your Bike Skills Refresher sessions

Register your place in a small-group practical session. We’ll bring helmets and a variety of cycles including comfortable step-throughs, ebikes, mountain bikes and tricycles.

Everyone who participates gets a free 3-month membership with Bicycle Network so you can ride insured and access all the benefits that membership brings.

Skills Refresher 1

If it’s been several years since you last rode a bike and you’d like to get back on but feel a bit nervous, then this session is designed just for you.

  • small and supportive group environment
  • bike handling skills and basic safety checks
  • short group ride in an off-road setting.

Skills Refresher 2

Being a commuter rider can be a bit daunting and this session acknowledges this by going slowing and concentrating on road-riding awareness skills relevant to the area you live and work.

After a quick bike safety check, we’ll ride quiet streets first before checking out busier urban terrain.
