Day by day
Day 1: Sat 23 Nov | Wodonga (arrival day)
Start the week off in Mortlake before embarking on the Great Vic's return to the stunning Great Ocean Road.
Prepare early by purchasing an additional night of camping in Mortlake on Sunday 23 November. Set up camp and relax the night before the ride.

this extra night is offered with limited services (no mobile showers or electricity provided, no official meals, and no entertainment until start day)

Day 2: Sun 24 Nov | Wodonga to Myrtleford

With fresh legs, you’ll kick off the ride with a scenic ride into Koroit. Rolling through lush farmland and sweeping views of Tower Hill’s ancient volcanic crater, you’ll feel the energy build with every pedal stroke.
Our new home for the night, Koroit is a charming town rich in Irish heritage, nestled on the edge of Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve. Known for its welcoming locals, historic pubs, and vibrant food scene, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak in the ride’s early buzz.
The riding route will be open from 8:30am - 10:30am for departure from Mortlake on Day 1 of the ride

Day 3: Mon 25 Nov | Myrtleford to Wangaratta
Back in the saddle for your first loop day, and it’s all about the coast. Leaving Koroit behind, you’ll ride south toward the Southern Ocean, where sea breezes, crashing waves, and wide-open views await. Your destination: the historic seaside village of Port Fairy. Take your time soaking up the salty air, coastal scenery, and the laid-back charm of streets lined with heritage cottages, cafés, and galleries.

Day 4: Tue 26 Nov | Wangaratta loop

This is what you've been waiting for. Ride the Great Ocean Road.
Today's ride takes you from Koroit through rolling farmland before delivering you to the spectacular coastline of the Great Ocean Road. As you wind your way toward Port Campbell, the Southern Ocean becomes your backdrop with towering cliffs, sweeping ocean views, and the rhythm of the waves never far from sight. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you ride beside one of Australia’s most iconic coastal stretches.
Then it’s time to unwind in the seaside town of Port Campbell, where ocean breezes and fresh seafood cap off a day carved by the coast.

Day 5: Wed 27 Nov | Wangaratta to Mansfield
Today’s loop ride gives you the chance to ride through some of the most scenic countryside in South-West Victoria, with the Great Ocean Road never far from mind. Departing from Port Campbell, you’ll wind through the charming towns of Simpson and Timboon, combining the best of inland beauty with glimpses of the wild Southern Ocean.
Near journey’s end, you’ll pass the breathtaking Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, dramatic reminders of the ocean’s power and beauty.
This is what makes the Great Vic truly unforgettable, the freedom to ride through rolling hills, pastures, and coastal vistas on roads most only ever drive. In Timboon, take a well-earned break to sample the region’s famous produce, including a stop at the renowned Timboon Distillery. Then it’s back in the saddle for a final stretch through peaceful rural roads, returning to Port Campbell where ocean views and coastal charm are waiting to greet you once again.

Day 6: Thu 28 Nov | Mansfield (Rest Day)

On your final ride day, you’ll leave the Ocean behind you as you head to Camperdown, where your adventure concludes. This historic town offers a peaceful setting to unwind, with its lakes, heritage buildings, and relaxed atmosphere providing the perfect place to celebrate completing the ride.

Day 7: Fri 29 Nov | Mansfield to Alexandra
It’s time to hop back on the bike for a ride on the Great Victorian Rail Trail to Alexandra. On your 77km Rail Trail journey, enjoy picturesque views of Lake Eildon and pedal across the Glad Phillips Bridge into Bonnie Doon where you can rest your legs and enjoy the serenity.
Alexandra embraces small town life, with tree-lined streets and local arts and crafts. Perfectly situated along the Great Victorian Rail Trail near Lake Eildon, the Goulburn River Valley and state forests.

Day 8: Sat 30 Nov | Alexandra to Marysville

Day eight is sure to be a memorable one. A pedal uphill out of Alexandra is rewarded with more incredible views over Lake Elidon. Make sure to stop for a photo before cruising downhill to Eildon itself. After a break, you will meander your way along the Goulburn River, continuing along Gould Memorial Drive past sites like the Cathedral Ranges before reaching the town of Marysville, our destination for the final night of Great Vic 2024.
Marysville is surrounded by natural beauty with lush forests, impressive waterfalls and native wildlife. 15 years on from the Black Saturday bush fires which devastated the town, the resilient community has rebuilt and is ready to welcome riders and your support.

Day 9: Sun 1 Dec | Marysville to Healesville
An incredible week comes to an end – but not without a spectacular day which includes a rare opportunity to ride the picturesque Black Spur car-free. You will be transported to another world, as you travel along its twists and turns among the iconic tall mountain ash trees and ferns. Emerging from this breathtaking wonderland you will arrive at the final destination, the finish line Healesville as our 501km journey comes to an end. Celebrate your achievement at this regional food and wine hub, surrounded by family, friends and nature.

Getting there
There are three main options to get to/from the Great Vic.
Option 1 - By coach
Coach transport is available from Melbourne and regional centres.
Option 2 - Drive & park
Drive to our Long-Term Car Park (at the finish line) and get coach transport to the start line.
Option 3 - Ask for a lift
Get a lift with family or friends to/from our designated drop-off and pick-up points at each campsite.
How to book a ticket

1. Select your ticket type
For a new era of the Great Vic, select a general or a school-groups ticket. You may be eligible for a discount if you're a Bicycle Network Member.

2. Select your add-ons
Designed to make you a little more comfortable, choose any ride extras to add-on – including camping upgrades (if you’re not bringing a tent), merchandise, e-bike charging and/or phone charging.

3. Select your transport option (to/from the event)
Need help getting there? Book a spot on one of our coach services. If you're driving, book a spot in the long-term car park (at the finish line) and a seat on the coach to the start line.
