Choose a charity and fundraise for your ride

Bicycle Network is proud to partner with six charities whose missions align closely with our vision of helping more people ride for their health and wellbeing. By fundraising as part of Around the Bay, you can support a cause that matters.

Already registered for the ride? You can still get involved by joining one of our charity teams and fundraising for a cause that matters to you.

Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue exists to help every person in Australia achieve their best possible mental health – no matter who they are or what they’re going through. We provide trusted information, tools, and support to help people feel more connected and empowered to seek help earlier.

START FUNDRAISING

More than 3 million people in Australia live with anxiety and over 1 million experience depression. On average, nine people die by suicide every day.

Every single day, Beyond Blue connects with hundreds of people through the free 24/7 Support Service, via phone, webchat and email. Your fundraising will help ensure those calls get answered, those chats go through and those people don’t have to face their toughest moments alone.

Every $66 you raise through Around the Bay in a Day will cover the cost of one lifechanging conversation with a Beyond Blue counsellor, a moment that can shift someone from overwhelmed to supported, from struggling to coping.

Diabetes Victoria

Diabetes Victoria is Victoria’s peak body dedicated to reducing the impact of diabetes on people, families, communities, and health systems. We see a future where diabetes can do no harm. Two ambitions drive everything we do: to see people with all types of diabetes live well and longer, and seeing a cure or prevention for all types of diabetes.

For more than 70 years, we have stood alongside Victorians impacted by diabetes. Whether it’s delivering camps for children with type 1 diabetes, supporting almost 80 peer support groups, leading education programs, or managing the Life! Program (funded by the Victorian Government) which supports Victorians to reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. We advocate for people with diabetes individually, across the health system, and at a government level, pushing for the care, policy change, research investment and resourcing this condition demands.

We have contributed millions into diabetes research. We co-founded the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (ACBRD) with Deakin University, and in 2025 launched a 10-year collaboration with the University of Melbourne to provide funding to the Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations (ACADI), translating medical discoveries into real-world impact.

As the Victorian agent of the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS), an Australian Government initiative, we connect Victorians to essential products, services, and support every day.

We are the voice of Victorians living with diabetes, and that starts by listening. We value our conversations with members, the broader diabetes community, stakeholders, and government. Every conversation about diabetes matters.

Stroke Foundation

Stroke Foundation is a national charity dedicated to preventing stroke, saving lives and enhancing recovery through advocacy, research, awareness, support services and partnerships with stroke survivors, families, carers and the wider community.

START FUNDRAISING

Stroke Foundation is Australia’s national charity with a mission to prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery.

Every 11 minutes, someone in Australia experiences a stroke. Stroke can happen to anyone, at any age, and remains one of Australia’s biggest killers and a leading cause of disability. It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. And incredibly, up to 120 babies and 400 children have a stroke in Australia each year.

Yet more than 80% of strokes are preventable. Just 30 minutes of exercise five times a week can reduce your risk of stroke by 25% – and that’s exactly why we’re so proud to partner with United Energy Around the Bay.

The funds raised through Around the Bay will help support our vital prevention work, our support services for survivors of stroke and their families, and the programs and research transforming stroke care across the country.

Together let’s ride for fewer strokes, better outcomes, support and care for all!

Support Cancer Council Victoria in Around the Bay 2026

Around the Bay is about more than just the ride – it’s about getting together, keeping the pedals turning, and helping move things forward.

With 1 in 2 of us expected to be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, progress matters, and it takes a relentless approach to get there.

Cancer Council Victoria works across all cancers, at every stage, to improve outcomes and survival. Every day, we’re working to make new discoveries and create hope for all people affected by cancer.

When you ride and fundraise for Cancer Council Victoria, every kilometre helps:

  • Support people with cancer and their families, from diagnosis and beyond
  • Prevent cancer and improve early detection through education and screening programs
  • Fund research to improve treatments and survival

The road isn’t always easy, but progress comes from keeping things moving.

Jump on your bike, take on the challenge, and help drive the future of cancer outcome forward.

Together, through Around the Bay, we’ll keep turning the pedals towards better outcomes for everyone effected by cancer.

Variety: The Children’s Charity

Ride for Variety. Help a child ride too.

Since 2002, Variety’s Bikes for Kids program has supported more than 14,000 Victorian children with bikes, helmets and locks.

Start Fundraising

Not every child has a bike of their own.

By riding for Variety – the Children’s Charity in United Energy Around The Bay, participants can help provide local children with bikes, helmets and locks through Variety’s Bikes for Kids program.

A bike can give a child much more than a way to get around. It can help them ride to school, play with friends, stay active, build confidence and join in with family and community life.

That is why Variety – the Children’s Charity is proud to be a charity partner of United Energy Around The Bay. This partnership gives riders a clear way to turn their own ride into something practical for children who may not otherwise have access to a bike.

Funds raised by riders and donors through United Energy Around The Bay will help continue this impact, supporting more children to experience the freedom, confidence and joy that can come with having a bike of their own.

Whether you are riding solo, with friends, with a cycling group or with your workplace, choosing Variety means your ride can help a child ride too. Best of all, you’ll be helping local kids across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Your ride can help give a child their first bike, helmet and lock, and the chance to get moving, have fun and join in.

Ride for Variety. Help a child ride too.

Very Special Kids

We currently support close to 800 Victorian families, offering emotional, clinical and practical care that improves quality of life and helps families create positive, lasting memories.

Our children’s hospice, Very Special Kids House — the first in Australia and the only one of its kind in Victoria — offers a warm, home-like environment.

Our medically supported respite care provide muchneeded rest for families, with peace of mind that their child is safe and receiving expert care from our medical teams and trained volunteers.

And if the time comes, we provide care at the end of a child’s life to make their last days as special and comfortable as can be.

As a predominantly self-funded charity, Very Special Kids relies heavily on the generosity of the community to continue delivering these vital services.

We are proud to partner with United Energy Around the Bay, an event that brings people of all ages together through community and shared purpose. As demand for our services continues to grow, partnerships like these play a vital role in ensuring seriously ill children and their families have access to comfort, respite and compassionate care, and do not have to face their incredibly difficult journey alone.
