The Great Vic Returns in 2025
We know you’ve been eagerly awaiting news about the Great Vic Bike Ride 2025, and we’re excited to share the event dates and format!
The Great Vic is back with a fresh new structure, running over five incredible days from Monday 24th – Friday 28th November 2025.
While we’re still finalising the exact route and locations to share publicly in April (pending final council and road approvals), we can promise you this: everything you love about the Great Vic will still be there; stunning locations, full on-course support, amazing community atmosphere, and the unforgettable experience of cycling through regional Victoria.
What’s New in 2025?
🚴 Five-day adventure: A more accessible format that allows more people to take part.
🏕 Less moving, more exploring: We’ll spend two nights at each campsite, giving you time to enjoy local communities and fully immerse yourself in the experience.
🌿 More flexibility: Loop rides mean you can choose your challenge. Go the distance or enjoy a more relaxed ride with on-site activities.
🎉 Even better entertainment & camp life – More time at camp means more fun, more connections, and more time to settle in making the most of the community rather than worrying about having to pack up just after you arrive. Removing the daily transitions allows for a more immersive and relaxed experience
We can’t wait to share the full details.
For now:
– Event dates: 24th – 28th November 2025
– Ticket sales and routes will be announced at the end of April.
– Structure:
- Riding everyday: Monday – Friday.
- The event will be 5 riding days through four different towns. Optional pre-start campsite, two campsites whilst riding, staying two nights at each site and a finish site: allowing for a more immersive experience

- Tuesday: Loop Ride Day
- Wednesday: Ride to new campsite
- Thursday: Loop Ride Day
- Friday: Ride to finish site
- Optional camping will also be available the Sunday evening pre-event for a relaxed start or arrive and start riding on Monday

“It’s like going on holiday with a big group of your best mates.”
Beginning in 1984, Victoria’s favourite annual regional ride is a rite of passage for people who ride bikes and has established a proud reputation for being much more than a cycling event. The Great Vic is a rolling bike festival that pedals to a new town each day, setting up camp where riders can soak up an evening of entertainment.
For seasoned campaigners, it’s an annual catch up with 3,000 friends. For others, it’s the first time they’ve ridden more than a few kilometres at once – let alone nine days in a row. But for everyone, it’s a great escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life in and around tranquil and inviting regional towns, and this year promises to be no different.
