Ride the new Easy Ride network in Whitehorse

This article was updated on Friday 28 April.

The City of Whitehorse has organised test rides for its new network of local routes through the municipality.

Riders are invited to try out the routes on a ride on 6 May at 2:00pm, starting at Aqualink Box Hill, Surrey Park, Box Hill.

To help planning for the event, register here.

The route is described as a low stress ride, but participants should feel confident riding on local streets and with others.

A short safety briefing will occur at the start of the ride.

Whitehorse City Council has launched a network of low-stress local street and off-road cycle paths to help make cycling to work or the shops safe and comfortable.

It describes them as “a network of low-stress local streets and off-road cycle paths to help make cycling to work or the shops safe and comfortable."

This is a good opportunity to explore these routes and to provide feedback on how they might be improved.

You can find out more on the Easy Ride routes here, and click through to the survey and the interactive map.
