Rail Loop seeks rider feedback

The Suburban Rail Loop has released visionary plans for the neighbourhoods that will surround the new stations along the project.

Six draft plans have been released for the stations in the first, eastern phase of the project: Cheltenham, Clayton, Monash, Glen Waverley, Burwood and Box Hill.

The work done so far on the transport aspects of the project has been impressive and superior active transport networks are being delivered within 1.6km of the stations and include good integration with the train system.

The bike riding community needs to participate in consultation as the project moves along, to ensure this forward thinking remains central to the project.

The master web page for the feedback is here and includes links to each of the station precinct pages.

The pages include information about potential new planning and land use opportunities for the broader areas around each station and artist impressions designed to trigger discussion.

There are also links to the full precinct vision document for each station, which contains additional information.

Riders familiar with these areas will be fascinated by the vision outlined and should be able to see the ways in which comprehensive active transport provision can enhance neighbourhoods.

This round of consultation will be open until early in the new year, but there will be additional feedback opportunities as the plans develop.
