Ride On Magazine, Bicycle Network’s much-loved member publication, is making a comeback.
Relaunching in early 2025, Ride On will return as a quarterly print edition and digital and digital magazine.
Ride On’s story began in the mid-1970s when it started as Pedal Power Victoria, a 20-page newsletter for members of the Bicycle Institute of Victoria. By 1984, it had evolved into a 50-page magazine with a colour cover. In 1987, the publication was renamed Bicycle Victoria and later simply BV, reflecting the advocacy organisation’s identity.
Throughout the 1990s, BV News focused on updates for a growing membership, with editions ranging from 12 to 40 pages. In 2004 the magazine was transformed into Ride On. Its mission was to inspire members and attract a broader audience by hitting newsstands nationwide.
In 2017 Bicycle Network shifted focus to its core mission of bike riding advocacy and the magazine was retired. Since then, members and readers have consistently called for the return of Ride On, often describing it as a standout feature and one of the most tangible benefits of membership.
