Leeuwin lighthouse path opens
A scenic new shared path has opened in Augusta, connecting riders and pedestrians to Western Australia's Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse.

The Leeuwin Biddi project was completed in December 2025, with this final section connecting Dead Finish to the lighthouse. 'Biddi' is the Noongar word for path or trail.

The 3.3-kilometre path is intended for safe, accessible use by all ages and abilities, incorporating a mix of fine granite gravel and concrete.

It overlooks a spectacular section of rugged coastline.

Leeuwin Biddi connects with the scenic 3.4-kilometre Cape Leeuwin Trail, from Augusta Boat Harbour to Dead Finish.

The Leeuwin Biddi project was supported by the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure through the WA Bicycle Network Grants program and the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.

The project is part of the state government's long-term goal to connect the Augusta town centre to Cape Leeuwin.
