Richmond roadworks to divert bikes from Victoria Street

Bike riders traveling through Richmond in the first weekend of March may be affected by detours, with road resurfacing works to be undertaken on Victoria Street.

The works will take place on Victoria Street between Church and Burnley streets, beginning on Saturday 4 March at 9:00pm and continuing around the clock until Monday 6 March at 5:00am.

This section of Victoria Street will be closed, with traffic management and signage to be in place across the weekend.

Bikes will be re-routed along Buckingham Street, which runs parallel to Victoria Street and can be accessed via Church and Burnley streets at either end.

There may also be temporary footpath and bike lane closures in the vicinity of the works. Businesses along Victoria Street will remain open and be accessible via footpath.

The works are being undertaken to improve ride quality along this section of the tram line, and ensure the road can endure heavy motor vehicle traffic.
