Queenscliff bridge underway
Northern Beaches Council has begun construction on a new pedestrian and cycling bridge that will span Manly Lagoon between Aitken Avenue and Hinkler Park at Queenscliff.

The new 4-metre-wide bridge will offer an alternative to the existing narrow path adjacent to Pittwater Road and connect with local cycling paths and routes further afield to Brookvale and Manly.

Wide and well-lit, it will provide a safe, dedicated path for active travellers to access local amenities including shops, schools, playgrounds and other recreational facilities.

The project is funded by a $3.95 million grant from Transport for NSW.

Construction is expected to be complete by April 2026.

Northern Beaches Council Mayor, Sue Heins, said: "This new bridge is a significant step forward in our efforts to create a safer and more connected community.

"We are grateful for the community's feedback and the grant funding from Transport for NSW, which has made this project possible.

"This project supports our local plans for a more liveable and sustainable area, encouraging healthy and active travel options."
