Geelong, Warrnambool line rail disruption

Riders expecting to use trains travelling between Melbourne, Geelong and beyond Geelong should be aware that bus replacement services that don’t carry bikes are being utilised until Friday.

Construction is underway on the new Tarneit Station and the change impacts both V/Line and Metro services.

Consequently, Geelong Line trains will run between Waurn Ponds and Wyndham Vale only and travellers will take a shuttle bus between Wyndham Vale and Werribee.

There will also be a bus replacement between Tarneit and Laverton.

Note that that low-floor replacement buses do not carry bikes.

There are additional changes to services at night with coaches replacing trains between Southern Cross and Waurn Ponds from 11:15 pm to last service each night from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 January.

When coaches are used to replaces trains, some bikes can be carried in limited numbers.

For Warnambool Line services there will be replacement coaches between Waurn Ponds and Southern Cross, not stopping at Footscray.
