The survey that enables riders to pinpoint the most aggravating locations along their route is scheduled again this year, and soon.
Last undertaken in 2016, the survey can reveal insights into perceived cycling safety and stress locations across Victoria.
The organisers already have multiple councils signed on to the exercise, but more participants are needed to ensure the coverage is wide and the data meaningful.
Check with your local council to see if they are on-board, and if not politely suggest that it could be helpful for their bike planning.
Similar to the original BikeSpot project from 2016, there will be a central online map enabling people to ‘Add a Spot’ directly to the map via a custom survey.
Users will also be able to vote and comment on any spots already added to the map by other users.
Councils need to move in over the next week to get involved.
The project is scheduled to launch by late March 2020 and run until late May 2020.
