Better bike connections arrive at Barwon Heads

A new shared trail at Thirteenth Beach in Barwon Heads opened last week, better connecting the township with local facilities, and providing safe active travel links for riders and walkers.

The new 450 metre gravel path runs between the Barwon Heads Thirteenth Beach Surf Life Saving Club, Barwon Heads township and the 13th Beach Golf Course housing estate.

The new section of trail is part of the City of Greater Geelong’s 10 year Shared Trails Masterplan, which aims to develop a connected share trails network across Geelong and the wider region.

Bellarine MP Lisa Neville said, “this shared path is an important asset for the Barwon Heads community. It will improve safety and link all parts of this beautiful coastal town in a sustainable and healthy way.”
