Work continues on Underground Rail Loop

Work will continue throughout August on upgrades to Melbourne Underground Rail Loop stations and riders may encounter above-ground construction activities on city streets.

There are bikes routes in proximity to these work sites.

Works are mainly at nights at weekends, but the compounds remain in situ.

There will be construction workers, vehicles, machinery, equipment and lighting on site to support night works.

Flagstaff Station

Traffic management will be in place for deliveries to site compounds at the Royal Mint at 280 William Street, Melbourne and the Flagstaff Gardens site opposite 469 La Trobe Street, Melbourne.

The station entry at Williams Street may also be used.

There will be intermittent temporary northbound lane closures on William Street between Little Lonsdale Street and La Trobe Street from 9 pm to 5 am on weekends, and there will be no vehicle access to William Street from Little Lonsdale Street during these times.

There may be brief vehicle detours via Little Lonsdale Street, Queen Street and La Trobe Street.
