If you're struggling for gift inspiration for the riders in your life we've got your back! We've gathered some great ideas from our office team - we hope Santa's elves were listening.
1. Randonnee shorts – Rapha
TJ, our Marketing Manager, will be gifting himself a pair of Randonnee Shorts from Rapha. They are ‘technical, lightweight shorts designed for city riding in hot and humid conditions’ and the best part is they are breathable and crease free so he will be able to park his bike and get straight to his desk or the pub whilst still looking 10/10.
2. A proper bike lane – Sydney Road
Our Ride2School extraordinaire, Manon, is wishing for a proper bike lane on Sydney Road and for the various levels of government (local, state and federal) to subsidise e-cargo and e-bike purchases or rentals.
"We need to move away from the car culture (as a bare minimum for trips that are less than 5km) and without gov incentives, it’ll be a loooong journey.”
3. A ticket to ‘The Weekender'
Crossy our bike parking manager will be gifting Mrs Crossy a ticket to ‘The Weekender.' This is the perfect gift for the cyclist in your life who has all the gear, accessories, and the latest bike tech. This sustainable option is not your typical 'experience voucher', but one anyone who enjoys the outdoors and being out on two wheels would love.
Use the promo code MERRYCHRISTMAS when you purchase an early bird ticket and we will send you a bespoke pop-up bike card to leave under the tree on Christmas Day.
4. Bike Trailer – Thule
Mark our event team guru is after a Thule bike trailer for his daughter so she can join his weekend rides. We aren’t sure if Mark or his daughter will enjoy it more but either way lots of fun adventures await!
5. Women's Alt Road Jersey – Maap
Our people and culture coordinator Jess has her eyes on a new cycling jersey to keep her looking stylish and comfortable whilst out on her new bike. She’s hoping there will be a parcel from Maap with their latest Women’s Alt_Road Jersey in lilac under the tree for her!
5. Bike Lights – Knog
Kirsty in the marketing team is pretty keen for Santa to bring some more opportunities for Women’s Community group rides and support to those who wish to start their riding journey having caught the bug herself earlier this year!
...and some bike lights to keep her seen on early morning rides and her commute, like these ones from Knog.
7. Aria E-Road Bike – Bianchi
Ian, our Parkiteer manager, is going all out and hoping Santa can fit a new bike down the chimney. He has his eyes on the new Bianchi Aria E-Road Bike! Ian rides to work and enjoys weekend rides with his son in the trailer. He is also hoping for the flooded trails to be less flooded so he can have smooth riding on his commute.
8. Gift Membership – Bicycle Network
Our membership manager, Anthony has cooked up a Christmas special on Bicycle Network memberships. If you're looking for the perfect gift for your bike riding family and friends this year, we’ve got you covered! Give the gift of Bicycle Network membership and make sure your loved ones are covered every time they ride. To sweeten the deal, you can save 25% off any gift membership.
9. Open Run Headphones – Shokz
Chelsea, our communities pro, is writing to Santa for these headphones from Shokz, designed for total awareness of surroundings and bud-free, comfortable listening. They use 'bone conduction technology' which for means that you can still hear ambient noises around you, pretty clever! You'll hear her singing along on her way to group rides!
9. Heritage Bike Helmet – Thousand
Our ever stylish Leyla, our public affairs general manager is wishing for a new bike helmet from Thousand. This is a helmet you will want to wear but does not sacrifce style for safety. If Santa is listening you might spot Leyla riding around Melbourne with the gold version this summer!
