Police hunt scooter crash duo

Police are seeking the rider and passenger of a motor scooter who fled following a collision that seriously injured a bike rider on the Laverton Creek Trail.

Police have been told the unregistered scooter collided with a 51-year-old Laverton man near Victoria Street, Altona Meadows at about 6:30 PM on Sunday February 12.

Officers were told two men riding the scooter didn’t stop at the scene and ran from the crash on foot northbound towards Victoria Street

The rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators have released images of items left behind at the scene which include a silver SYM brand scooter, a red and black helmet and a silver metal chain necklace.
