A key route for bike riders traveling in and out of the University of Melbourne precinct will be closed until late April.
As part of the Metro Tunnel project, Leicester Street is closed to traffic between Grattan Street and Pelham Street while works are completed for the construction of Parkville Station.
Traffic controllers will manage the closure during working hours and maintain access to local business and buildings. Passive control measures will be in place at all other times.
A bike detour will take riders along Bouverie Street, which runs parallel to Leicester Street one block to the east. See the full map below.
Pedestrian access to Graduate House and Melbourne Business school will be maintained. The footpath along the north side of Grattan Street between Leicester and Bouverie streets will remain open, though the footpath on the southern side will also be closed until late April.
