Launceston Council gets end-of-trip facilities

The City of Launceston has new staff end-of-trip facilities, which are housing the first office e-bike and e-scooter.

Staff are trialling the e-bike and e-scooter to get between council buildings, site inspections and external meetings.

A Tasmanian planning law review is investigating whether secure bike parking and the provision of changing rooms should become the standard in new office buildings across the state.

North East Run & Ride open for registrations

The North East Rail Trail Run and ride is back for a sixth year and the bicycle leg is scheduled for Sunday 24 September.

All four distances – 7km, 18km, 30km and 54km – leave at 9am from the Scottsdale train station.

Prices are $30–40 for early bird entries and $30–50 for entries after 15 September.

Rivulet path faces disruption at Anglesea Bridge

Taswater will be fitting a new water main next to the Hobart Rivulet Path at Anglesea Bridge from 21 August until late September.

Trucks, excavators and workers on site are likely to cause delays. Riders are advised to follow signage and directions from workers.

The location is a popular entry and exit point for South Hobart Primary, Collegiate Junior School, and the C3 venue and caution is advised.

Score a free snood during Women’s Health Week
