Surf Coast Highway closure

This story was updated on 22 November

Riders using the popular Surf Coast Highway route to Torquay from Geelong may encounter minor disruptions in the coming weeks.

A new elevated rail bridge is being built away from the existing line to reduce disruption to traffic and Geelong Line train services.

The Surf Coast Highway will be closed in both directions (weeknights only) between Monday 27 November and Saturday 16 December, from 9.30pm to 6am between the level crossing and Baanip Boulevard. The closures are for essential drainage works and installation of bridge screening.

A covered walkway will be in place to enable safe passage for pedestrians and bike riders at all times.
