Have your say on upgrades to the Western Freeway

Public consultation is open for the Western Freeway upgrade between Caroline Springs and Melton, which is set to deliver a big boost in bike facilities in Melbourne's west.

Major Roads Projects Victoria has launched a campaign to gain community input as the business case for the project is developed.

They want to hear your views on safety and traffic flow, new interchanges and existing interchanges should be prioritised for upgrades, and upgrades to walking and cycling paths. Visit the webpage here to have your say.

This future upgrade of the Western Freeway will be delivered with fully separated bike facilities from Harkness Road in Melton to Christies Road in Caroline Springs.

The corridor, now a rural highway, will be transformed into a major arterial connecting new suburbs being developed through Melton, Aintree, Rockbank, Mt Atkinson and Deanside.

See our previous story here.

The consultation is open for feedback until 10 December.

There is a survey and a pin map for commenting.

You can chat to the project team, provide your feedback or ask questions about the potential upgrade in your local area at:

  • Woodgrove Shopping Centre on Thursday 23 November from 11am to 2pm
  • Woodlea Town Centre on Thursday 23 November from 4pm to 7pm
