We need you! Count bikes and raise money on Super Tuesday

Bicycle Network is gearing up for its largest Super Tuesday on 5 March (7am-9am) and needs more volunteers to help shape a more bike-friendly Australia.

Sixty councils across Australia are participating in Super Tuesday 2024, which sees volunteers monitor key intersections and record rider numbers during the morning commute.

More than 1000 volunteers are joining the count this year, and sites are filling up quickly. However, some important locations across the country sill need counters. Volunteers are most needed in Melbourne’s west, south-east and outer north, across Sydney and Perth, and in several regional areas.

Check out the available sites through our interactive map here.

All Super Tuesday counters who are Bicycle Network members will receive a $70 credit towards their Bicycle Network membership (equivalent to six months free). You can sign up to become a member here.

Counters do not need to become members, as we will donate $70 to their nominated charity, school, sports club or non-profit organisation.

Super Counts data has been collected for more than a decade and provides councils and decision makers with accurate, longitudinal data on active transport trends.

This long-term overview of commuter movements helps councils monitor the impacts of active transport policy, and prioritise their delivery of bike infrastructure.
