Reefton Spur closed for landslip repairs

The challenging Reefton Spur in the eastern Ranges will be closed for almost a month.

VicRoads is repairing the early stages of a landslip to prevent further damage to the road.

Works are expected to take place from Thursday 29 February to Friday 22 March 2024, subject to favourable weather conditions.

Warburton-Woods Point Road will be closed in both directions to all vehicles between Stream Road, Reefton and Cumberland Junction, Cambarville, from Thursday 29 February to Thursday 14 March, and from Monday 18 March to Friday 22 March.

Warburton-Woods Point Road will be open from Friday 15 March to Sunday 17 March under changed traffic conditions.

Work involves excavating the full width and length of the impacted section of road to a 1m depth, anchoring and rebuilding the impacted section of road and reconstructing and repairing drainage.

To excavate and repair the damaged section of road, a narrow strip of vegetation will be removed along the length of the site. Voluntary offsets will be purchased to account for the vegetation removed.
