Have your say on new plan for Victoria

Victoria’s planners are developing a new blueprint for the future of the state and want your ideas.

Consultation will go on for most of this year and there are plenty of avenues for input.

The Department of Transport and Planning has created a website where you can submit ideas, take a survey, and notate a map with your suggestions.

Planners have been meeting with leaders and key decision-makers in local government and have begun discussions with industry leaders across different sectors including housing, development, environment, and community.

Engagement with the public is now underway. "We know that every suburb and every community across Victoria is unique,” the department says.

"That’s why we are travelling to all corners of the state to bring the discussion to you where you live, work, study, play sport and gather for events and celebrations."

There are four pillars guiding the consultation:

  • Affordable housing and choice
  • Equity and jobs
  • Thriving and liveable suburbs and towns
  • Sustainable environments and climate action.

Bike riders should have plenty to say about the topics on that list as active transport can strongly contribute better outcomes to each of them.

As well as using the website you will have an opportunity to engage directly with the planners at events across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
