Young rider dies in Knoxfield

Police are seeking information from the public about a fatal collision in Knoxfield on Monday.

It’s believed a teenage boy riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle on Ferntree Gully Road just before 8.30pm.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.

The 15-year-old Ferntree Gully boy was taken to hospital but has since died.

The female driver of the vehicle has been interviewed by police and released pending further enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and it will be investigated by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.
