Greenline works divert Main Yarra Trail

Preliminary works are underway on the construction of the Greenline linear park along the Yarra River's north bank, closing the gravel link through Birrarung Marr.

People on bikes will detour along the designated shared path on Batman Avenue, connecting to the path from the William Barak Bridge across to the Federation Square precinct.

The preliminary construction works will include setting up temporary fencing and timber hoarding to separate the construction zone from public areas on the lower terrace of Birrarung Marr.

A traffic management plan has been prepared to facilitate safe access and movement around the site.

Once preliminary works have been completed, construction will follow from May 2024.

Construction hours are from 7am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with potential weekend activities from 7am to 1pm.
