Help shape bike travel through North Sydney

North Sydney Council is refreshing its Integrated Cycling Strategy and is seeking ideas from the community to help make bike riding a more appealing mode of transport.

The Strategy was first implemented in 2013 with the ambition of increasing the appeal of bike riding, noting the area’s incomplete and disconnected network of paths, lanes and infrastructure.

With the Strategy refresh, the council is looking to understand how bike riding has shifted in the past decade and update its approach, priorities and key actions to match.

A background report compiled by the Institute for Sensible Transport provides a current-day overview of the policies and infrastructure impacting bike riding in North Sydney, and will inform the delivery of the plan. It can be accessed here.

North Sydney Council will be conducting interviews, workshops and surveys over the coming month. It will also host pop-up stalls at the following locations and times:

  • Dorner of Miller Street and Ridge Street, 8am to 10am, Wednesday 24 April 2024
  • Northside Produce Markets, Saturday, 4 May 2024

There is also an interactive map available for the community to leave comments, mark trouble spots and put forward ideas for improvement.

Consultation closes on Sunday 12 May. If you live in or travel through the area, you are encouraged to visit the engagement page and have your say here.
