Works continue on Exhibition Street

Riders should remain aware of roadworks continuing along Exhibition Street as the City of Melbourne upgrades the Theatre Precinct.

Most of the works in front of the Comedy Theatre, including wider footpath and improved bike lane, are now completed.

However, installation of street furniture and trees will take place in the coming days.

Roadworks have now moved in front of Rydges Hotel with pedestrian, bike, traffic and driveway access maintained during the day while temporary road closures will be required at night.

Traffic management will be in place to guide road users safely around the work zone.

Some parking bays will be occupied by the work zone and equipment.

The project is supported through the Melbourne City Recovery Fund – a $100 million partnership of the Victorian Government and City of Melbourne.

It is aimed at giving theatre-goers more room to move as they make their way to and from the area.
