Summerleas underpass gets underway

Kingborough Council is set to start work on a new underpass at Summerleas Road for the Whitewater Creek Path from Friday 7 June, lasting 10 weeks.

The path will be closed during the works and the road will be closed between Whitewater Crescent and Queens Parade.

There are detours in place for path users via Whitewater Crescent and on the other side of Summerleas Road through fenced-off land.

Kingborough creates link to new path

Kingborough Council has started building a new sealed path to link Channel Highway to the Whitewater Creek path, providing bike riders with a bypass of the town centre.

The works will take six to seven weeks and when finished it will mean riders can avoid the Huon and Channel highways intersection to access the path straight off the Channel Highway.

The council finished an underpass under Huon Highway in late 2022 and is due to finish an underpass at Summerleas Road in late August this year, eliminating all road crossings on the path between Huntingfield and Kingston.

Coastal Pathway gets bike pump & tools

Central Coast Council has installed a bicycle pump and tools at Ulverstone's Fairway Park.

The pump is next to the Coastal Pathway and there is a QR code on the stand, which has details about the tools and how to use them.
