Count bikes and shape better streets in Queensland

Are you a Queenslander wanting to count bikes, collect valuable data and help us build a more bike-friendly Australia?

Registrations are open for Super Tuesday North on Tuesday 3 September and active transport enthusiasts are encouraged to get involved and contribute to a healthy and sustainable future.

Super Tuesday counters received a six-month Bicycle Network membership or a $70 donation to a charity, club or organisation of their choice.

The count will take place during the morning peak from 7am-9am, when volunteers will station themselves at key intersections and capture data on rider volumes, gender demographics and user types like bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters.

Sites are available now in local government areas of Logan, Townsville and Whitsunday, but more will be added in the coming week in Cairns and Exmouth (WA), so stay tuned. Check out the map and lock in your spot here.

The data gathered through Bicycle Network’s annual Super Tuesday counts provides councils, planners and decision-makers with accurate longitudinal data on transport trends. This in turn helps them monitor the impact of infrastructure and policy, and prioritise projects for delivery.
