Veloway works to close Footscray Trail

Works to construct the overhead bike Veloway into the CBD from Footscray are nearing the halfway mark, but another closure of the Footscray Road Trail will begin soon.

To enable the Veloway segments to be safely lifted by crane, the route will be closed from 8pm Tuesday 3 September to 5am Thursday 12 September.

The path will be closed between Shepherd Bridge at the Maribyrnong River and Pearl River Road at the Moonee Ponds Creek.

Riders and pedestrians will be detoured to the path on Dynon Road.

When the path reopens, there will be some changes to the placement of construction barriers that guide riders on the southern side of Footscray Road between Pearl River Road and Appleton Dock Road.

This will temporarily provide a straighter pathway for cyclists on the southern side of Footscray Road while surface works are undertaken in this area.
