The intermittent closures of the Collins Bridge over the Yarra at Gipps Street in Abbotsford are at end.
Riders along the main Yarra Trail no longer will have to wait for crane lifts across the bridge.
The crane was operating as part of the project to provide a ramp down to the trail on the west side of the Yarra, replacing the infamous Gipps Street steps.
The crane was being used to lift segments of the ramp that had been fabricated off-site into position on top of already-installed piers.
The main engineering and construction phases are complete and work is progressing on the path along the ramps.
