The removal of a tower crane on the Chandler Highway at Alphington at the end of October will disrupt bike traffic for a day.
The crane, at 60 Chandler Highway, is coming down as the redevelopment of the former paper mills site near the Yarra River progresses.
Tower crane 1 (southern crane) will be dismantled from the Ironside construction site on 30 October.
The Chandler Highway bicycle lane travelling southbound will be closed during the hours of works – 5am to 4pm
The bicycle lane and pedestrian path will be closed as this zone will operate as a construction zone for the plant and equipment.
There will also be a speed reduction imposed and the highway, which will be reduced to one lane, on the day.
Traffic managers will be in position to guide road users and to assist with any queries.
Riders should comply with directions to ensure safety.
