Registrations are now open for Bicycle Network’s Super Sunday recreational count, and volunteers are encouraged to lock in their spot and help us understand where we need better places to ride.
Super Sunday will take place on the morning of Sunday 10 November, when counters will take up posts at 300 sites in more than 40 council areas around Australia.
These volunteers will capture vital information on bike riders, e-bike riders, e-scooter riders, walkers, joggers and dog walkers, logging their volume and direction of travel.
This data is provided to local councils to inform decision making around active transport and prioritise projects.
Sites are available in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Hobart, and many regional areas including Shepparton, Warrnambool, Bass Coast, Mornington Peninsula, Halls Gap, Gippsland, Newcastle, Albury, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie-Hastings and Bathurst.
For most, the count will take place from 9am until 12pm, but those counting in Kingston (Vic), Sutherland (NSW), Bayside (NSW) will be on duty from 7am until 10am.
Volunteers receive a $120 credit towards either their Bicycle Network membership or a donation towards any nominated charity, school, sports club or any other not-for-profit organisation.
