Recall: Canyon tri bike stem fault

Canyon has recalled its Speedmax CF triathlon bike because the stem and handlebar can break or detach while the bike is being ridden.

The company says impacts such as hitting a pothole or kerb might crack the stem and handlebar, leading to breaking or detachment with the risk of injury from a fall.

Consumers should stop using the bicycle immediately.

The models affected are the R073 and the R4, model years 2016-2024, and sold online from Canyon’s website from 1 January 2016 to 5 November 2024.

Consumers should check Canyon’s website to arrange for a free inspection and, if necessary, repair by a professional bike mechanic.
