Brisbane parks get revamp for 2032 Olympics

Brisbane City Council plans to revitalise four key park precincts, transforming them into “legacy lifestyle destinations” with extensive recreation trails ahead of the 2032 Olympics.

More green spaces and activities will be added for the city’s growing population in Oxley Creek, Kedron Brook, and the Wynnum, Manly and Lota foreshores, and Victoria Park / Barrambin.

Oxley Creek, Brisbane’s longest creek and the only sand-based creek in the city, has a dedicated transformation plan that includes a 20km recreation trail from Brisbane River to Warril Parkland in Larapinta. Graceville Riverside Parklands is expected to become a significant gateway to the recreation trail and an exciting destination hub for water-based activity and recreation.

Brisbane City Council has committed $100 million over 20 years to transform Oxley Creek.
