A driver is expected to be charged with offences including reckless conduct endangering life after he fled the scene of a crash in Carrum early on Saturday 18 January.
Police were told two cyclists were riding south on Nepean Highway between McLeod and Eel Race roads at about 6.30am, when they were allegedly struck by a car.
The car involved left the scene.
The riders, a 52-year-old man from Ormond and a 48-year-old man from Glen Waverley, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police were contacted by a member of the public about the incident and the driver, a 38-year-old man, was located at an address in Dandenong around 5.30pm.
The man was interviewed and released pending summons.
