People riding bikes and e-bikes to work, study or school next Tuesday 4 March will notice hundreds of volunteers on key intersections wearing Bicycle Network's blue shirts and gathering important data on active travel.
Bicycle Network’s Super Tuesday 2025 bike counts take place every year and the data gathered by volunteers gives local councils valuable insights into active transport, providing detailed, long-term information on directional flow, gender, volume, and user type (walker, runner, cyclist, scooter rider, or other).
Understanding long-term patterns in commuter movements helps councils monitor the impacts of active transport policy and prioritise planning and infrastructure projects in need of improvement.
Volunteers are still needed
Sign up to join the count and nab a spot near your work, home, school or favourite place to ride.
All Super Tuesday volunteer counters will receive a $70 donation to a club or charity on their behalf, or a six-month Bicycle Network membership.
More than 1000 volunteers took part in Super Tuesday 2024, covering more than 960 sites across Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, and New South Wales.
In 2025, almost 60 local councils are on board for Super Tuesday counts and spots are available in Melbourne, Sydney, regional Victoria and NSW, Adelaide, Perth, and Hobart. Counting takes place from 7am to 9am.
