Recall: Specialized e-bikes snagging clothes

Specialized has recalled several models of e-bikes with chain guards that can suck-in clothing and cause the rider to crash.

All have belt drives and internal gear hubs and were sold in Australia between 1 September 2022 and 25 March 2025 by Specialized authorised retailers.

Models affected are Specialized Turbo Como IGH, Turbo Como SL IGH and Turbo Vado IGH e-bikes.

Due to a problem with the chain guard, loose clothing can get trapped in the drive train causing a risk of serious injury from fall or collision.

Riders are advised to stop riding affected bicycles immediately and return bicycles to an authorised Specialized retailer to have an updated chain guard fitted free of charge.
