The north-west riders are heading to Penguin on Sunday 27 April to celebrate the town’s 150th birthday, with a photo shoot at the Big Penguin to mark the occasion! Other rides this fortnight make the most of the north’s quiet roads for serious mileage and Hobart’s quick access to the bush.
Lap of North Bruny – Sunday 27 April
Enjoy a day on Bruny Island on Sunday 27 April with the 43km Lap of North Bruny ride.
Meet ride leader David at 10am in the Oyster Cove Inn car park ready to catch the 10.30m ferry – $7 for a bike and rider.
The ride will mostly be on well-maintained gravel roads with a few hilly sections and the goal is lunch at Dennes Point about 1pm before returning via Killora and Barnes Bay.

Penguin Loop – Sunday 27 April
The north-west riders are heading to Penguin on Sunday 27 April to celebrate the town's 150th birthday with a group photo with the Big Penguin!
Meet at the Ottos Grotto car park in Ulverstone before 11am, before heading out for the 25.4km loop on South Road to Penguin and returning along the coastal road and Coastal Pathway.

E-bike Coffee Cruise: Queens View – Friday 2 May
The Queens View ride on Friday 2 May is our monthly introduction to the easy pathways that quickly take you from Hobart to the bush.
Join ride leader Di at the front of the Brooke Street pier at 10.15am. The 10km ride will be mostly on sealed and gravel pathways but there is a short ride on road on the Queens Domain and in separated bike lanes on Campbell Street.

Wandering Waterworks Workout – Sunday 11 May
The 21km Wandering Waterworks Workout on Sunday 11 May is another ride that takes you from the city to bush with a steep hill to keep your heart pumping.
Meet ride leader David at 9.45am at the Cenotaph car park on McVilly Drive. The ride will be a mix of sealed and gravel paths and on-road riding so make sure you have wide enough tyres and good gears/e-bike for the climb.

E-bike Coffee Club: Cadbury Loop – Thursday 15 May
The 29km Cadbury Loop on Thursday 15 May is an easy up and back along the Intercity Cycleway.
Join ride leader Di at the Cenotaph car park on McVilly Drive at 10.15am, open to all e-bike riders but especially people who want to build their confidence and stamina on the bike.

- Wednesday 30 April: Westbury, Station La, Exton, meet ride leader Mick at 9.15am at the sports ground at 21 Franklin Street, Westbury. 42km, 20-25km/h pace.
- Wednesday 7 May: Longford to TPG, meet ride leader Mick at 9.15am at Lyttleton Street, Longford. 50km, 20-25km/h pace.

If you would like to be one of our social ride leaders, please email our Rides Coordinator with your contact details and what sort of riding you are interested in and we'll let you know when the next Ride Leader Skills Development Workshop is scheduled.
You don't have to be super fit or into competitive riding, our rides are a mixed bag depending on the interests of our ride leaders. They offer everything from short 1–2 hour rides, with stops along the way, to day-long excursions.
Our ambassador routes have been developed by our social rides coordinator Di with help from other riders. It’s another way of helping more people to ride if you don’t’ have the time to run regular social rides.
