Heading to the hills in May

The social rides for the next fortnight include quite a few steep selections if you want to build up your quadriceps! From the small but sharply steep Rokeby Hills to the higher but more gradual ascents in the Wandering Waterworks and Elderslie Dysart Loops. And if hills aren't your thing, the Cadbury Loop is the perfect flatter option to get some kilometres under your belt.

Kangaroo Bay to Rokeby Hills – Saturday 10 May

Join ride leader Brian for an afternoon ride on 10 May from Kangaroo Bay into the Rokeby hills.

Meet at the Kangaroo Bay car park at 1.45pm for the 21km route which includes two sharply steep hills on Rokeby Road, although if you don’t want to ride on the road the group can split into two with one lot staying on the bike paths and joining up with the hill climbers.

Drinks after at the Bellerive Waterfront Hotel – please RSVP in case of cancellation via https://ridewithgps.com/events/362974-kangaroo-bay-to-rokeby-hills

Get involved in social rides

If you would like to be one of our social ride leaders, please email our Rides Coordinator with your contact details and what sort of riding you are interested in and we'll let you know when the next Ride Leader Skills Development Workshop is scheduled.

You don't have to be super fit or into competitive riding, our rides are a mixed bag depending on the interests of our ride leaders. They offer everything from short 1–2 hour rides, with stops along the way, to day-long excursions.

Our ambassador routes have been developed by our social rides coordinator Di with help from other riders. It’s another way of helping more people to ride if you don’t’ have the time to run regular social rides.
