The obstructive road works at the corner of Peel and Franklin Street have been cleared away and bikes have free run southbound on Peel.
The bike lane was temporarily closed while a new bus stop for the Queen Victoria Market was constructed.
The bike lane is now realigned around the back of the new accessible bus stop.
Riders should familiarise themselves with the locations of the pedestrian crossings over the bike lane to the bus stop, and ensure they stop for people at the crossings.
These works are part of the Transforming Franklin Street project – improving safety and accessibility for pedestrians and commuters – which will transform the street during the course of the next few years.
Further east on Franklin Street the Metro Tunnel projects has began work on a project that will transform the blocks from Elizabeth to Victoria streets as part of the works on the new State Library Station.
There will be more information about that project and its improvements to the bike network in the coming months.
