The City of Maroondah has big aspirations for the expansion of the bike network across and through the municipality.
It has identified 96 projects through Ringwood, Croydon and surrounding suburbs that could contribute to a network of links and connections that would attract more people to use bicycles for travel.
It is seeking your help to prioritise these projects so that is can better plan the provision of active transport facilities over the next 10 years.
You can place comments on a map and fill in a survey.
There are several background reports with more detailed information available.
The projects are listed in the Project Opportunities document.
The council says the projects listed will be regularly tracked, monitored and reported on to ensure progress.
Every two years, the list will be updated to remove completed projects, update project status and add newly identified ones.
The council originally sought feedback on its current bicycle network in 2023 and following changes in legislation, guidelines, and policies related to cycling, along with the impacts of evolving workplace arrangements and travel trends, it has developed the draft Maroondah Bicycle Network Plan.
It says the plan recognises that the bicycle network is a vital part of the transport network, working in conjunction with the Principal Pedestrian Network to create a comprehensive active transport network.

"Council’s aspiration is to encourage more people to ride bicycles through the development of routes with infrastructure, which is safe, convenient and accessible for people of all ages and abilities," it says.
"The draft plan provides direction on how Council will improve and expand the cycling network over the next 10 years.”
Consultation is open until 15 June 2025.
