The first 30km stage of the Warburton Mountain Bike Park is expected to be open by the end of July.
And as the facility gets ready to launch, it has revealed a new name and graphical ID to reflects its vision: to create a world-class trail network that delivers lasting benefits – boosting local businesses, strengthening community connections and promoting healthier, more active lifestyles for everyone who calls the area home.
Contractors have now completed a range of trails around the Mt Little Joe area (Stage 1A) anticipated to be open around mid-to-late July 2025, although the extended dry summer conditions are affecting the curing process of some of the newly completed trails.
Trails will continue to be monitored, and updates will be provided as we get closer to the anticipated opening.
This first stage will comprise mainly easy trails, catering primarily for family groups and beginner riders. Stage 1A trails are a ride-in, ride-out design and not accessible by shuttle.

In other developments towards supporting the delivery of the full 125km of the Southern Network, there was an election commitment of an additional $3 million dollars from the federal government.
The Project Emergency Management Plan was tested in May with a comprehensive emergency training exercise facilitated by the SES, CFA, Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police.
For Stage 1A, Wesburn Park Trailhead will be the main access point. The Yarra Ranges Council has increased parking capacity and sealed the entrance road at Wesburn Park as part of the project.
During the initial opening period, the council will have contingency parking plans in place as well as traffic management to reduce the potential for parking issues.
The Warburton Rail Trail will connect to the network via a climbing trail just outside of Warburton township. A descending trail ends at Dolly Grey Reserve.
The opening of Stage 1B in the first half of 2026 will include additional services, a new website, marketing and promotional activity.
