Bourke Street electrical and water works disruptions

Riders along Bourke Street in the CBD at night will encounter works to upgrade the electricity supply in the locality.

CitiPower will operate a worksite on the south side of the street between Exhibition Street and Westwood Place as they work on underground and overhead cables.

Traffic management will be in place and there will be pedestrian detours as crews work in the footpath.

Activities will be underway from Sunday 15 June 2025 until Monday 15 July 2025, with working hours from 9pm until 6am, Monday to Sunday.

Meanwhile, work continues on the Bourke Street water main renewal between Russell Street and Russell Place.

Day works take place between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, with night works expected to start on Sunday 15 June 2025 and take about three weeks to complete.

The site compound along the street requires riders to take care when trams are approaching the Swanston Street stop.
