Main Yarra Trail detour

Maintenance work on the historic MacRobertson Bridge over the Yarra will require detours for riders along the Main Yarra Trail.

The trails on both sides of the river will be impacted while works are underway.

On the busy north side, the contractors will restrict their working hours to 9am to 3.30pm so that peak bike flows are not interrupted.

A major detour is required for riders along the north bank if they are travelling while contractors are working.

This detour requires diverting off the trail and travelling through Burnley before rejoining the trail, including the tricky Loyola Grove roundabout.

On the south side of the river riders will need to cross Grange Road at the roundabout.

There will be traffic controllers and signage to guide riders.

It is expected that these works will take several days only.

Works are tentatively due to get underway on 7 July 2025.
