Singleton mountain bike park gets $500,000 boost

A $500,000 upgrade to Pioneer Road Mountain Bike Park in Singleton has been completed, boosting the area's appeal for locals and tourists alike.

Works have been underway since November 2024 and included upgrading 9.4km of existing trails, constructing 1.7km of new trails and closing and rehabilitating 2.4km of existing trails for biodiversity protection.

Trails have been resurfaced and new features and jump lines installed.

The upgraded trails are suitable for intermediate to advanced riders.

Singleton is home to an active mountain biking community who have been asking council for a formalised mountain bike facility for many years.

The Pioneer Road Mountain Bike Park was identified as the number one priority area in Singleton's Mountain Bike Feasibility Study, adopted in 2021.

Mayor of Singleton, Cr Sue Moore, officially opened the completed project on 22 June 2025 ahead of the first Singleton Mountain Bike Club race on the upgraded tracks.

Mayor of Singleton, Cr Sue Moore, said: "We're thrilled that the project is now completely finished and look forward to seeing more people enjoy all the benefits of mountain biking in a safe environment under the stewardship of the Singleton Mountain Bike Club.

"We're very grateful for the support of the New South Wales Government to be able to deliver this project, but we know we're not finished yet.

"We'll continue to work through the Mountain Bike Feasibility Study to build on Singleton's growing reputation as a mountain biking destination."

The project was funded by a grant from the New South Wales Government's Regional Housing Fund and delivered in a partnership between the state government, Singleton Council and the Singleton Mountain Bike Club.
