Riders will encounter changes to the Swanston Street northbound bike lane layout for the next five weeks.
From this week works begin to reinstate the footpath where A’Beckett Street meets Swanston.
This entire intersection has been closed off during the Metro Tunnel works while a huge shed was erected on A’Beckett Street.
The footpath has recently been a construction site as the shed was disassembled.
As a new footpath is built along this section of the west side of Swanston Street a temporary footpath will be established along the former parking lane to maintain pedestrian access.
The northbound bike route will remain open during this time via a temporary on-road diversion.
Activities will be underway from 21 August to late September between 409 Swanston Street and A'Beckett Street.
Crews will be working 7am to 2.30am Monday to Thursday, 7am to 10.30pm Friday and 7am to 2.30pm Saturday.
